I thrive under pressure

Day for Random:

Gift cards are the lazy man's gifts...enough said.

If you do not know someone good enough to get them a real gift, perhaps they do not deserve a gift to begin with. My rule is if you do not know their middle name - take them off the list.

Also, I have noticed that there is a very short window in time where our parents actually can shop for clothes for their kids. I am 36 and that window is way over, incase anyone wants a track suit or a cosby sweater.

I have yet to see any idiots in the city try and save their shoveled out parking spots with lawn chairs - can the magic last?

Pizza is good no matter what.

Naperville Film Fest

http://www.naperfilm.org/submit.php

So it looks like Naperville will be attempting to have their own film festival - very cool idea if you ask me. I think there is at least a book in every person out there waiting to be written, so perhaps there is a movie in a few people as well. With today's computers and software, hopefully some clever people will come up with something that gets some press outside of town, and perhaps a new talent will be discovered.

I may do a documentry on the making of a film fest, and submit it...or better yet, a documentry on the making of a documentry on the making of a film fest...

Naperville Last Fling

So I went to the Last Fling last weekend...a few random thoughts:

--Where do all the bikers come in from? The tattoo per person ratio for Naperville must go up 10 times during this 4 day fried food fest.

--Who let's their daughter go out of the house dressed like that???? The place was swarming with herds of girls dressed like tramps...amazing.

--It was nice to still see that game where you try to shoot the red star off the paper with a BB gun - brought back many memories of wasted money, with an occasional Motley Crue mirror as a rare win.

--What happened to those distorted stretched out glass coke bottles with the colored liquid in them?

--It seemed VERY small to me. As a kid I remember walking what seemed like endless halls of food and rides, this thing was about 2 blocks big.

Any way, that's all I have for now. Perhaps the Last Fling should have stayed a memory.

Last Fling

So I just read that the guy from Men at Work will be plaing the Last Fling in Naperville, IL - he has done a lot of solo stuff, some of it on Scrubs. May have to check him out.
